报告人简介:祁教授1983年在美国南加州大学获得电子工程博士学位。1983-1988年期间在Jet Propulsion实验室(加州)工作。自1989年起,他在台湾清华大学电子工程系担任教授。他发表230篇以上学术论文,其中包括90篇期刊论文(大部分在IEEE信号处理汇刊),出版专著《Convex Optimization for Signal Processing and Communications from Fundamentals to Applications, CRC Press, 2017》。他目前的研究兴趣包括:无线通信信号处理、生物医学及高频谱图像的凸分析。他担任4个IEEE期刊的编辑,其中担任IEEE信号处理汇刊编辑九年。祁博士是IEEE高级会员。
报告摘要:Convex optimization has been recognized as a powerful tool for solving many scientific and engineering problems, including communications (e.g., coordinated transmit beamforming, resource allocation, secret communications, and energy harvesting) and signal processing (e.g., blind source separation, biomedical image analysis, and hyperspectral image analysis). In-depth and efficient learning of the convex optimization theories and tools can equip one with a new degree of freedom and the capability for solving challenging real-world problems. In this tutorial, Part I introduces some mathematical fundamentals of convex optimization. Then, like a guided journey/exploration, Part II presents how some fundamentals introduced in Part I are applied to the cutting-edge research on wireless communications and signal processing problems
